Santé : And Gueusseum et le SATSUS lancent une grève de 48 heures pour dénoncer le non-respect des engagements de l’État
The And Gueusseum trade union movement, in conjunction with the Autonomous Union of Senior Health Technicians (SATSUS), is observing a 48-hour strike this Tuesday and Wednesday, as part of the implementation of its third action plan. According to union leaders, this mobilization reflects their exasperation with the government's silence and inaction.
When questioned about this, Mballo Dia Thiam, Secretary General of And Gueusseum, pointed to the lack of concrete responses from the State, despite several months of consultations.
"The Ministers of Health and Finance didn't even bother to make the trip. But beyond their absence, it's the actions that are lacking," he laments.
Among the main demands is the decree integrating health technicians into the A2 hierarchy, which has been awaited for almost ten months, even though the text has already been examined in the technical committee.
"This decree has been blocked for ten months, even though it has gone through all the necessary technical steps," insists Mballo Dia Thiam.
The union leader also mentions the delay in signing regulatory acts related to career plans, including the establishment of certain schools as doctoral schools or engineering schools, commitments which were nevertheless agreed upon during previous negotiations.
Issues with financial implications, although discussed with the authorities, also remain unresolved.
"So far, we have no information on these aspects. There are too many unanswered questions," he lamented.
For And Gueusseum and Satsus, this situation reflects a lack of consideration for healthcare workers. The unions also denounce the government's attempt to impose a social pact they consider meaningless.
“Today, the government wants to impose on us a social pact that the signatories themselves have already torn up. From this point of view, the struggle is inevitable,” says the Secretary General of And Gueusseum.
And he warned: "This struggle will continue as long as the government continues to show contempt for And Gueusseum and Satsus."
With this 48-hour strike, the unions intend to maintain pressure in order to obtain clear answers and concrete actions in an already weakened health sector, where the workers' demands remain, according to them, largely legitimate.
