Situation des personnes vivant avec un handicap: Les instructions de Diomaye Faye au gouvernement
The Council of Ministers met this Wednesday at the Presidential Palace. In his address, President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye reaffirmed his commitment to placing social inclusion at the heart of public policy. "To this end, he instructs the Government to take all necessary steps to continuously improve the situation of people living with disabilities, to ensure their proper integration through entrepreneurship and employment in particular, and to strengthen support mechanisms in order to promote their income-generating initiatives and activities, as well as their recruitment, under special arrangements, into the civil service and businesses," reads the statement from the Presidency.
Furthermore, the President of the Republic asked "the Minister of Family, Social Action and Solidarity to conduct, before the end of 2025, consultations with associations and groups of people living with a disability, with a view to implementing, from 2026, a national strategy to consolidate support for people living with a disability."
