105eme anniversaire de Kaolack : Serigne Mboup veut redonner à la ville sa centralité
Serigne Mboup, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Mayor of Kaolack, wants to celebrate his city's 105th anniversary in grand style. These festivities, which will take place from December 25th to January 2nd, will have an economic dimension with the "Grand Economic and Territorial Day," the "Concerts and Arts Day," and the "Sports and Olympic Days."
Geographically, Kaolack is a crossroads city and also the gateway that opens Senegal to the sub-region (Gambia, Guinea, and Mali). Serigne Mboup also wants this geographical centrality to become an economic centrality, as it was during the colonial period when Kaolack was the heart of the peanut basin and the economic engine of the country.
Revisiting Kaolack's economic history will highlight the city's immense potential. Politically, Kaolack has also played a central role in our history, not to mention its exceptional religious contribution to the history of Senegal. Celebrating Kaolack's 105th anniversary will be an opportunity to take stock and outline future prospects with a new economic development plan for the city, which was once one of the most industrialized in Senegal.
