Affaire Pape Cheikh Diallo et Cie : pourquoi la surveillance aux frontières a été renforcée
The case involving radio host Pape Cheikh Diallo and artist Djiby Dramé has taken on unprecedented proportions. According to L'Observateur, a total of 17 people are now in the hands of the justice system. The charges brought against them include criminal conspiracy, money laundering, intentional transmission of HIV/AIDS, endangering the lives of others, and complicity in drug trafficking.
The newspaper notes that the most recent shockwave came from the arrest on Tuesday of RTS journalist Pape Birame Bigué Ndiaye. However, this investigation is far from over, predicts the daily newspaper of the Groupe Futurs Médias (GFM). Citing sources close to the case, the same source reports that several individuals suspected of involvement in this network are actively trying to leave the country to evade justice. In response, authorities are considering an immediate increase in surveillance at points of departure, particularly airports and land borders, while certain individuals are already considered to be actively sought.
From a medical standpoint, the Gfm news outlet reports that the health situation within the group is considered particularly worrying. Tests have revealed that 12 people are HIV-positive, while 4 are HIV-negative; the result for the last suspect arrested is still pending. Most of those implicated admitted to having unprotected sex while fully aware of their HIV status.
