Agression présumée d'un enseignant au CEM Boucotte Sud : les dessous d’une affaire qui paralyse Ziguinchor
The case of the alleged assault of a teacher by his student at the Boucotte Sud middle school has taken an unexpected turn. While the education system was paralyzed on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, the emerging testimonies paint a picture far more complex than a simple act of gratuitous violence. Teacher C. Diatta accuses student P. Dabo of injuring him with a piece of brick during an altercation, an incident that led to the student being taken into custody before his release.
Between humiliation and harassment: the student's story
According to several consistent accounts, it all started in the classroom. Teacher C. Diatta is accused of publicly humiliating young P. Dabo. The student claims he was made to stand at the blackboard in front of his classmates, where the teacher allegedly called him "ugly," comparing his physique to that of the footballer Krépin Diatta. Despite the mockery, the student maintains he remained calm until the end of class.
The situation escalated in the schoolyard at 1 p.m. A classmate reportedly touched him on the head while mocking him, sparking an altercation. While the teacher claims he was hit with a stone while trying to separate the two students, P. Dabo offers a radically different version: he alleges he was beaten by two teachers, including Mr. Diatta. Mr. Diatta also allegedly insulted his mother, an insult the 17-year-old says he could not tolerate, prompting him to use a "small stone" in self-defense.
"They all called me Krépin": the weight of mockery
P. Dabo's testimony is corroborated by that of his classmates. The nickname "Krépin" appears to have become a regular form of harassment, used by both students and some teachers to mock his physical appearance. The student's mother confirms this toxic atmosphere, specifying that the term was used in the very first phone call informing her of the incident.
Some students go further in denouncing the violence suffered by their classmate: "They hit him and locked him in the room. Mr. Diatta insulted his mother in front of us. P. Dabo fainted in their hands after receiving blows to the back and face," confides an eyewitness under the condition of anonymity.
An education system at a standstill
In support of their classmate, students at CEM Boucotte Sud launched a 48-hour strike, disrupting classes at several other schools in the city. They refuse to condone what they describe as acts of violence committed by their own teachers.
This boycott of classes coincides with that of the G7 union, which also announced a 48-hour suspension of classes this Wednesday and Thursday in support of their fellow teacher. This convergence of crises illustrates the growing chasm of mistrust between stakeholders in the education system in Ziguinchor.

En plus cet enseignant de 2nde zone se moque de quelqu'un (Krépin) mille fois plus connu ou de renommée mondiale que lui. Kabekouli!
Former un enseignant, c'est pas simplement lui presenter des contenus academiques.
