Camberene : Un chauffeur de Yango piégé par deux agresseurs
A ride booked via the Yango app turned into an armed assault on the night of August 2, 2025. The Parcelles Assainies U15 District Police Station arrested two individuals involved in an attack on a VTC driver.
According to the driver, the reservation was for a trip to Mbour. Around 1 a.m., he picked up his customers at the Yoff roundabout. But when they reached the Cambérène bridge, the front passenger pulled out a knife and forced him to stop, under threat from two accomplices in the back.
The attackers stole the victim's money and Tecno Spark 7 phone before fleeing. In their haste, one of them left his own phone in the vehicle.
Using the forgotten phone, investigators quickly identified two of the suspects. A requisition sent to Yango confirmed that the phone number matched the one used to book the ride. Both suspects were taken into custody, and investigations are continuing to apprehend the third accomplice.
