Cité Mixta : coup de filet contre un réseau de prostitution clandestine
On May 8, 2026, the district police station of Parcelles Assainies arrested six female individuals for failure to register in the health file, soliciting, disturbing public order and vagrancy.
According to police sources, the women involved, well-known to security services for their activities in the prostitution industry, were unable to produce the required documents for this activity. They are reportedly regularly stopped for identity checks, public intoxication, or disturbing the peace.
Among those arrested is a woman who was previously brought before a judge on November 21, 2025, for failing to register with the health authorities. According to investigators, she is also known for acts of rebellion and frequently disturbs the peace at the police station by shouting and making insulting remarks towards the officers.
Another woman is described as being involved in fraudulent schemes involving extorting money from her partners before provoking altercations. Already brought before a judge on February 10, 2026, for the same offenses, she is said to often act with the complicity of another woman.
The police also indicate that they have received several complaints from residents of Cité Mixta, denouncing the recurring actions of the latter in the area.
Following their detention, the six suspects were brought before the prosecutor in Dakar.
