On the night of October 13-14, 2025, investigators from the Kédougou Research Section struck hard in the gold-mining village of Kharakhena, located in the Saraya department, dismantling a veritable sex mafia, Seneweb learned from Colonel Ibrahima Ndiaye.

The nighttime operation conducted by gendarmes from the Kédougou Research Section led to the arrest of three foreign nationals. They had set up a well-established system of sexual exploitation in this mining town where the influx of workers creates significant demand.

The accused, owners of several accommodations dedicated to these illicit practices, collected the sum of 2,000 CFA francs daily from each sex worker. This "rent" guaranteed them substantial and regular income.

A Very Lucrative Business

The investigation revealed the scale of this trafficking. One of the pimps owned an imposing building with nineteen rooms, four of which were still under construction. This infrastructure brought him in approximately one million CFA francs per month, resulting in annual profits exceeding twelve million CFA francs.

To mask the true nature of his criminal activities, the prime suspect deployed a camouflage strategy. He opened a small business near his establishment, thus giving the appearance of an honest merchant to the authorities and the local population.

This legal facade allowed him to justify his significant income and launder the money from pimping.

At the end of the investigation, the three suspects were brought before the Kédougou prosecutor's office. They will face serious charges: pimping and money laundering.
