Sénégal : Gade Gui se lance dans la production d’œufs de table, avec le soutien de Proparco
In Dakar, Proparco has granted a long-term structured loan to the Gade Gui poultry farm, a major player in the sector and a key contributor to food security in Senegal. This marks Proparco's first direct transaction with an SME in West Africa through its new "Growing SMEs" facility.
The total amount of financing granted by Proparco to the Gade Gui poultry farm is 2.5 billion CFA francs (XOF) — approximately 4 million euros — for the construction and management of a laying hen farm (breeding, sorting, and packaging). The facility is expected to eventually produce more than 80 million high-quality eggs.
This operation also helps to support Gade Gui, known in the Senegalese poultry sector as a key player in broiler chicken production, throughout its integration into the local laying hen sub-sector.
In a context of rapid population growth and urbanization, the availability of quality animal protein at a competitive cost is a key factor in the success of food security policies. Initiatives to increase egg production capacity, the most affordable animal protein, further strengthen the Gade Gui project, which will bolster the food supply for the entire Senegalese population.
The equipment and technical support are provided by NTD France, an international leader in the supply of high-quality poultry facilities, located in Gers.
We are privileged to support the remarkable growth of Gade Gui, a company that is expanding successfully across numerous segments of the poultry sector in Senegal. This project provides an opportunity to reaffirm Proparco's unwavering commitment to supporting food security stakeholders in West Africa and to directly support high-growth SMEs. Proparco has launched a "Growing SMEs" facility to finance future national and regional champions, offering them long-term and flexible financial instruments tailored to their scaling needs.
Sadio Dicko
Regional Director for West Africa at Proparco
To encourage the emergence of national and regional champions, Proparco now finances SMEs planning significant productive investments, particularly in the agri-food sector. This "Growing SMEs Facility" offers structured debt financing (up to €5 million) to existing, profitable companies that struggle to find suitable financing for their acceleration projects, in terms of maturity and significant deferred repayment.
As part of these financing arrangements, Proparco mobilizes its technical and commercial teams based in its regional offices, as close as possible to the clients, in order to actively support them on their project: sizing and sequencing of their project, complete review of financial forecasts and enhanced legal due diligence.
Our objective with this “Growing SMEs” facility is twofold. First, to provide the appropriate financing for large-scale projects that require significant implementation and ramp-up time. Second, to conduct an in-depth project review to ensure that our clients' management teams have a thorough understanding of the risks associated with these investments. As a result, we see our clients strengthen their internal mechanisms as our collaboration progresses, and the completion of the first development bank loan to an SME always offers significant prospects for that SME, which is very gratifying.

Une société qui bénéficie d'un financement privé quoi de plus normal. Il y a des gens qui sont simplement négatifs et qui cherchent le mal partout. Soyez content et encouragez ceux qui réussissent ou entreprennent et arrêtez la jalousie malsaine.
