The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) have officially unveiled Assad, the mascot of the Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco-2025. A powerful symbol of Moroccan identity and the passion for football on the continent, Assad is presented as a figure destined to unite supporters throughout Africa.
Inspired by the Atlas lion, one of Morocco's most powerful and respected national emblems, Assad takes its name from the Arabic word meaning "lion." It evokes strength, nobility, and pride—values deeply rooted in Moroccan and African culture.
Through its design and symbolism, the mascot intends to celebrate the cultural authenticity and unity that characterize the premier competition of African football.
