Impact social et économique : Yango Group génère 4 milliards de dollars pour ses partenaires et booste l'éducation Tech

Yango Group publishes its first-ever impact report, highlighting $4 billion generated by its partners and growing investments in tech education.

Yango Group today announced the publication of its first-ever impact report, a comprehensive analysis of its social, economic, and environmental contributions in more than 30 countries. This report lays the foundation for a long-term benchmark that will enable Yango to measure and communicate the impact of its activities as a global technology company with a strong presence in emerging markets.

This first edition illustrates Yango's evolution from a ride-hailing service launched in 2018 to a multi-service digital ecosystem used daily by millions of people. The report highlights how the company's technologies support local entrepreneurship, expand income opportunities for partner drivers and couriers, and contribute to developing the skills needed to build the digital cities of tomorrow.

Daniil Shuleyko, CEO of Yango Group , emphasizes the importance of this report for the company: “ As we continue our international expansion, we are committed to growing not only our technologies, but also our positive impact on communities, local economies, and future generations. Our ambition is to contribute, alongside the countries where we operate, to building the cities and digital opportunities of tomorrow.

Supporting local partners: $4 billion generated last year

According to the report, Yango's partner drivers and couriers generated over US$4 billion in 2024. Yango's partner network now comprises 6,000 businesses, 2.1 million registered partner drivers, and 600,000 partner couriers. In the delivery segment, 40% of users are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that leverage the digital platform's infrastructure to reach new customers and grow their businesses. These dynamics position Yango as a key player in economic value creation and entrepreneurship in Africa and other emerging markets.

Strengthening local economies through technology

The report also highlights Yango's role in urban development and digital commerce. In Côte d'Ivoire, the company is piloting electric mobility initiatives aimed at reducing emissions and modernizing transport infrastructure. In several markets, services like Yango Buy & Sell enable small businesses to increase their visibility and build customer trust, thus facilitating their integration into the digital economy. Meanwhile, Yango Food expands access to local restaurants and everyday products, boosting consumer activity while creating flexible income opportunities for delivery drivers.

Investing in STEM: preparing talent for the cities of tomorrow

One of the report's major focuses is Yango's investments in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education and digital skills development. This strategy is structured around four key initiatives designed to equip young people with the skills needed in rapidly growing digital economies.

The first is the Yango Fellowship, launched in Zambia to support outstanding STEM students through comprehensive financial assistance, mentorship, and practical workshops. The program was extended to Côte d'Ivoire in early 2025, opening new opportunities for young talent.

In parallel, Yango strengthened practical learning through hackathons dedicated to mobility and smart cities, bringing together more than 800 participants in six African countries. These events enabled participants to develop applied skills in data science, machine learning, and urban innovation.

To democratize access to basic digital skills, Yango also offered free SQL data analysis training, which was attended by more than 2,000 learners in Ghana, Ivory Coast, and Zambia. This training aims to strengthen data literacy, a key asset for careers in the technology sector.

Finally, in Cameroon, Yango supported the Technovation Challenge, enabling 100 young women to develop technological and entrepreneurial projects with the guidance of local mentors. This initiative illustrates the company's commitment to inclusion and access for young women to STEM fields.

Taken together, these programs reflect the group's long-term vision: to help young African generations actively participate in the building and evolution of the digital cities of tomorrow.

Community investment and cultural inclusion

Beyond technology and education, the report highlights Yango's community initiatives across Africa. These include digital inclusion programs for visually impaired students in Angola, support for youth football academies in Côte d'Ivoire and Zambia, and public art projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo. These actions reflect Yango's belief that technological progress must be accompanied by social inclusion and the preservation of cultural identities.
