CROUS de Ziguinchor : les délégués dénoncent la gestion du Dr Salif Baldé
Tensions have risen at the Ziguinchor Regional Center for University Social Services (CROUS/Z). Meeting in general assembly, the members of the student council denounced the opaque management practices of the director, Dr. Salif Baldé.
According to their coordinator, Landing Goudiaby, the new management cites budgetary difficulties to justify the non-regularization of agents on fixed-term contracts, the reduction of temporary staff and the precariousness of certain functions.
“We believed in this speech and supported the request for a budget increase. But today, we see that new recruitments are being carried out at the expense of workers awaiting regularization,” he laments.
The delegates also denounce transfers deemed arbitrary, the sidelining of agents assigned without specific tasks and the loss of their benefits, plunging several employees into financial difficulties.
Another cause for outrage: the non-payment of contributions to IPRES and the Social Security Fund, despite deductions at source. "For six months, employees have received nothing. It's unacceptable," Mr. Goudiaby protested.
The college claims to have exhausted all avenues of mediation, including with the labor inspectorate, and is now leaving the matter to the unions, who could consider a strike.
When contacted, the director of CROUS/Z, Dr. Salif Baldé, indicated he was traveling and referred inquiries to his communications department. According to internal sources, he is expected to respond upon his return.
