Référendum en Guinée : Faya Millimouno vote « Non » et accuse le pouvoir de mensonge

The president of the Liberal Bloc (BL), Dr. Faya Millimouno, fulfilled his civic duty this Sunday, September 21, 2025, in Enta-Fassa, in the commune of Tombolia. Upon leaving the polling booth, he announced that he had voted "No" to the draft new constitution, thus confirming the line defended by his party throughout the referendum campaign.

"I voted No"

In front of the press, Faya Millimouno publicly acknowledged his choice. "I voted No. I'll post it on my Facebook page later. You saw me coming home with my Android phone. I voted, I took the photo, and I'm going to post it. I know the vote is secret, but this secrecy mainly serves to protect citizens from intimidation. I want to encourage my activists to vote No," he declared.

A people committed to peace

The BL leader praised the calm that prevailed in his polling station, while recalling the intimidation suffered by some voters.

“You can say anything about Guineans, but they are a people deeply committed to peace and one of the most resilient you can find. There has been a lot of intimidation. You heard the prefect of Nzérékoré say: ‘Here, there will be no No.’ It’s regrettable.”

Harsh criticism of the government

Faya Millimouno also took the opportunity to denounce the junta's governance and its management of the transition.

"Since its arrival, this government has done nothing but lie to the people of Guinea. No one has the land title to this country; it is a republic. And in a republic, especially during a period of transition, we must sit down with others, discuss, and agree on what needs to be done. This is not the case today."

The president of the Liberal Bloc also questioned the neutrality of the public administration, recalling the dysfunctions observed during the campaign:

"Even the Prime Minister acknowledged that many offices were closed. He asked those who had nothing to say to come back at least so that the offices would be open. This is the image of Guinea as we see it today. It's a shame."
