Crise du carburant au Mali : Bamako signe un accord stratégique avec les acteurs du secteur pétrolier
It's an open secret. Mali has been facing a fuel supply crisis for several weeks now, due to terrorist attacks against tanker trucks transporting hydrocarbons.
In recent days, Bamako has clearly succeeded in mitigating the effects of this crisis. It is continuing its efforts to resolve it definitively.
Put an end to the endless queues at gas stations
Yesterday, Friday, November 21st, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Moussa Alassane Diallo, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Malian Group of Petroleum Professionals (GMPP) and the Professional Group of Petroleum Producers (GPP) to reduce delays related to customs formalities upon the arrival of tanker trucks at the Petroleum Products Office. The goal is to streamline the supply chain and eliminate the long lines at service stations.
According to the memorandum of understanding, tanker trucks must now be declared to the Petroleum Products Office within 24 hours. After this period, the General Directorate of Customs and the General Directorate of Trade, Consumer Affairs and Competition will proceed directly with the sale and distribution of the products, transferring the proceeds to the importers.
