Abdou Fall : « L'avenir du Sénégal se construira avec le savoir, pas l'improvisation »
Invited to the Sunday Jury (JDD) program on eRadio, former Minister of State Abdou Fall called for deep reflection on the future of Senegal. According to him, the country will only be able to meet tomorrow's challenges by making knowledge, research, and foresight the fundamental pillars of its development.
To illustrate his point, Abdou Fall cited the example of major Asian powers which, while remaining deeply attached to their cultural values, have invested heavily in education, science, and new technologies. "The world of tomorrow will be a world of knowledge," he summarized, believing that nations that anticipate changes always gain a significant advantage.
The former minister regrets that Senegal is still struggling to develop this culture of anticipation. In his view, public decisions are too often dictated by urgency, whereas major demographic, technological, and economic transformations demand a rigorous long-term vision.
Abdou Fall also expressed concern about the erosion of traditional frameworks for transmitting values. He observed that family meals, intergenerational exchanges, and the educational role of parents are gradually giving way to screens and social media, profoundly altering the reference points of young people.
According to the former minister, Senegal must succeed in a dual challenge: remaining true to its cultural identity while investing heavily in human capital, knowledge, and innovation. This, he believes, is the essential condition for building a country capable of competing in a world where knowledge has become the primary asset.
