The initiating MP talks about clarifications, corrections, and alignment with international agreements. Translation? A little legislative facelift to avoid diplomatic wrinkles. Because, you see, a law can be controversial, criticized, contested... but with proper interpretation, it becomes almost a work of art!
Ultimately, we'll no longer be calling it the "Macky Sall amnesty law," but rather the Amadou Bâ law. Just to freshen up the facade. And after all, not everything about this law is bad. All it takes is a good political spin... and hey presto, it's a breeze!
